Now a days in so many Indian cities we can see so many people moving around and picking up the garbage from garbage bins. You will find so many children and women among them. They start their work with the day break and silently going about their job without troubling anybody. They mainly pick up the polythenes and other thrown items which could be recycled. After they pick up the garbage they bring it to their living place which is normally situated at a distance from the main city at road side where they live in pathetic conditions in the makeshift tents built by the polythenes etc.
We are not aware how these people are helping the environment we call them illiterate and do not pay any attention to them but you see what they are doing for us. Earning their bread and butter from the garbage which we educated people throw away daily, unmindful of the adverse consequences. Can we do something for these people. Yes we can if we wish to. For I am doing it for past several years adn you all can start doing from now onwards if you are not doing it. Simpley instead of throwing the polythenes with the garbage we must store them and give it to these people whenever they happen to visit you area. This way we are saving our environment and also helping these people so that they need not to pick up these things from the stinking heap of garbage. Do'nt you feel its really moving sight to see a kid of 6-7 yrs picking the plastic from the garbage the whole day they also have a right to go to school, they also have a dream to live good livies which most of us are living so why can not we just do this small bit for these people. We can not help them financially but atleast we can help them to bring some amount of dignity in their profession which no one would like to adopt unless he is born poor and disadvantaged. I am collecting all the packaging polythenes e.g. packagings of bread, biscuits, chips, mixtures and all other types of polythenes. Whenever I see anybody I give all those polythenes to them and start depositing more. I really feel happy to do this activity atleast something we can do.
So I hereby request all my readers kindly start doing it and believe me you will enjoy doing it when you will see a smile on the face of a kid when he gets something from you which he otherwise going to pickup from the filthy places. Make it s point to deposit all you plastic and ploythenes and give it to these people.
This is the least we could do to a fellow human being who has got all the rights to live the life as we all are living.
